Program Description:
Are you new to leading storytime or have you been doing storytime for a while and feel like you need to shake things up? This webinar is for you! Librarian Aubrey White will share his best tips and tricks for a successful storytime. Based on Phoenix Public Library’s Storytime 101 curriculum, this training will include best practices based on early childhood development, the importance of diversity and inclusion in our stories, and the six early literacy skills our youngest patrons need as they get ready to read. Plus, we’ll dive into the most important techniques to use in any type of storytime. Let’s build those early literacy muscles!
Presenter:
Aubrey White has worked in libraries for the past 12 years, primarily in youth services and programming. Currently, he is the Sort Supervisor at the Cholla Branch Library of the Phoenix Public Library District, where he also conducts regular programming and outreach for all ages.
