DIVISIONS

Customize your AzLA experience by joining our focused library divisions, where you can network and collaborate with a targeted focus on your library environment and your professional role. Through career development, specialized resources, opportunities to lead and learn, AzLA Divisions will connect you to the professional community you want. The available divisions are:

School Library Division - focused on school library staff and community.

Public Library Division - focused on public library staff and community.

Health Sciences Division - focused on Health Sciences library staff.

College & University Division - focused on college and university library staff and community.

Members of AzLA Divisions must first be members of the Arizona Library Association (AzLA). To learn about the types of membership available, see AzLA Membership page.

If you wish to chair any of the divisions, please reach out to admin@azla.org.

What does advocacy mean?

The AzLA Advocacy committee's foundational commitment is to advocate for good library representation and voices at local, state and national levels.  We wish to clarify assumptions made about libraries, library workers, and library organizations and help our members find their place on the advocacy spectrum. Advocacy can range from basic awareness to actionable activities and you may find that your position within this range might change over time.
