Program Description
Engage in hands-on, standards-aligned, research-based best practices that strengthen educator
practices and build the skills educators need to effectively address childrens' learning needs.
Learning outcomes:
- utilize the engineering design process to design a solution to a problem identified in literature
- synthesize STEM, the science and engineering practices and the engineering design process in order to inspire children's creativity and increase interest in reading.
Presenter Bio
Brenna Chambers is a Professional Development Facilitator at Arizona Science Center. Prior to this position, she was a Preschool Teacher in Flagstaff Unified School District at a Reggio Emilia-inspired program. During her time there, her passion for early childhood education flourished. She also taught Kindergarten and 5th grade in Gilbert Public Schools. Brenna believes that all young people should be exposed to STEAM in formal and informal ways.
