Program Description
University of Arizona Libraries will share their experiences of providing a monstrous a collection of over 1 million eBooks in a university library setting. The presentation will explain the sometimes vampiric eBook package options and types of licensing rights. We’ll also share how we help patrons navigate the terros of access issues.
1) Learners will be able to identify two different types of eBook licensing rights.
2) Learners will be able to able to distinguish different types of eBook purchasing models.
3) Learners will identify one tool useful for assisting patrons with eBook access
Presenter Bios
Teresa Hazen has worked at the University of Arizona Libraries for 11 years within the areas of technical services, collections, and digital preservation and production. Before that, she has held a variety of positions in academic, school, and public libraries, primarily focused on technical services and collections.
Cindy Elliott is the Collection Management Unit Lead at the University of Arizona, managing a team of six. Her unit manages the acquisitions of information resources, including ebooks, streaming videos, journals and databases for campus use. Cindy manages the day to day operations for the information resources budget and renewal processes also.
