Program Description
This presentation will explain the process of making and using a social media plan to provide dynamic information services. A social media account is a product, not merely a communication channel. A social media plan defines that product, whom it serves (its target market), and what standards it follows for consistency and quality.
After this session, attendees will be able to:
(1) Create a marketing plan for social media
(2) Produce patron-centered social media content
(3) Develop an engaging, consistent social media presence with free tools for their libraries.
Presenter Bio
Rob realized his passion for librarianship after a year of graduate studies in philosophy. His undergraduate education at Arizona State University gave him a broad background in the liberal arts, a great foundation for library work. An internship at the Phoenix Seminary Library convinced Rob to seek an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona; he graduated in December 2014. He served as a library technician at GateWay Community College for a few months before landing a librarian-level paraprofessional role at Arizona Christian University in July 2013. He has been the head librarian at the Arizona Christian University Library since June 2015.
