We’re so grateful you’re interested in volunteering for AzLA 2026. Below are two key roles where your help makes a big difference. Click the links to sign up for shifts that work for you.

 Registration  & Sales Desk
Staff the registration or sales desk: check in attendees, assist with badges, answer questions, handle merchandise or ticketing.
Speaker Liaison  Serve as the point person for session presenters: greet them, help with logistics, monitor session timing, record attendance, and collect feedback.

Why Volunteer?

  • Be part of the action. Help shape a smooth, welcoming experience for attendees and presenters alike.

  • Meet new people. Connect with librarians, educators, and conference-goers across Arizona.

  • Build your skills. Enhance your event coordination, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

If advanced registration has already passed, volunteers will get codes to register for conference at the advanced rates.

Tips & Expectations for Volunteers

For Speaker Liaisons

  • Arrive at least 5 minutes before your assigned session start.

  • Introduce yourself to the speaker(s) before the session begins.

  • At session start: welcome the audience, cover housekeeping (schedule, Q&A, survey), and assist the speaker.

  • Midway through, count room attendance (excluding speakers) and record on the session sheet.

  • Provide 5-minute warnings before presentation end and before Q&A end.

  • After the session: thank speakers and attendees, remind about survey participation, and drop off your attendance sheet at the designated collection point.

  • Arrive promptly for your shift, some may start early to get set up.

  • Greet attendees warmly, assist with badge printing, registration check-in, and directing people.

  • Handle merchandise or ticket transactions, if needed, according to the procedures provided.
