2012 AzLA Annual Conference

November 8, 2012 through November 10, 2012

South Mountain Community College
7050 South 24th Street
Phoenix, AZ 85042

Conference Theme

Beyond the Box
How do we cultivate new ways of perceiving? We are often asked to think outside the box, but what does that really mean? In general terms it means to re-envision a situation in ways beyond the ordinary. At this year’s conference you will be invited to imagine the possibilities of a new approach or an innovative solution to one of your library “problems.” Think beyond the library building, think beyond the roles you currently fill and know that many great ideas start with something that sounds impossible. The 2012 AzLA Conference invites you to turn the box upside down, deconstruct it and think beyond the box.

Conference attendees can donate to the scholarship by participating in a raffle during the conference. Multiple prizes will be offered. Purchase raffle tickets at the AzLA booth for $2 each or 3 for $5. Drawings will be held on Friday and Saturday during the last no-conflict time in the conference schedule. A list of raffle winners will be posted at the AzLA booth each day. Participants must be present to win. Conference attendees can also donate by cash or check.

Volunteer at the Conference
Planning on attending the 2012 AzLA Annual Conference?  Would you be willing to volunteer an hour (or more) at the AzLA registration desk or the AzLA Membership booth?

Volunteers are needed each day of the regular conference - Friday, November 9th and Saturday, November 10th.  This is a great opportunity to create career connections and serve your professional organization.

AzLA Members who are interested in volunteering, please contact Leila Duncan at Leila.Duncan@pima.gov.  If you are volunteering for a particular area, please include that in the email.

Students - if you're currently enrolled in a library school program and are a current AzLA member, volunteer for 3 hours and attend the conference for free!  Fill out the Student Volunteer application and send it to  Leila Duncan at Leila.Duncan@pima.gov by August 31, 2012 for consideration.
